Luminary / David Eagleman / Event

Meet David Eagleman for a Virtual Coffee
Join me for a small-group meetup to chat, ask any questions you have about brain plasticity, or anything you’ve ever wanted to know about the brain. What does drug withdrawal have in common with a broken heart? Why is the enemy of memory not time but other memories? How can a blind person learn to see with her tongue, or a deaf person learn to hear with his skin? These are just a few of the questions covered in my book Livewired, and I'd love to dive even deeper in an intimate meeting. This will be an open Q&A format, and with only 10 people this is intimate enough so that everyone has a chance to ask questions and participate in the discussion. Proceeds will benefit the Center for Science and Law.

What are people saying?
"A NOVEL EXPERIENCE"
This is a novel experience. I’m an absolute amateur in the subject, but have learned loads since the meetups. Access to a leading expert with the ability to ask questions - that can’t compare to any book or video.
- Martina G.
"Spark of curiosity"
The infectious enthusiasm, relatability, cool mannerisms... they are the teacher all of us wish we'd had. The magic is igniting the spark of curiosity and then the desire to learn just oozes out of people.
- Lisa S.
"BEST READING EXPERIENCE"
This was definitely the best book reading experience I’ve had. Having the option to ask questions made it all clearer, more fascinating, and fun. It is a great way to learn something when you have a mission.
- Emily B.
"HOW THINKERS THINK"
The Q&A format is exciting. I like that it showcases how thinkers think rather than just tell us what they think. I was able to have some back-and-forth around the ideas which is where the real value is.
- Michael C.
